Broken Heels

Can you believe it is February already!? I am looking forward to the month for a number of reasons, one majorly exciting one that I refuse to talk about until it has happend....

It is the last week of rehearsal for Yerma. We open next week! I am still loving the rehearsal process and hope the performances itself builds positively on this. As a cast we have really gelled well and I am looking forward to after-show celebrations. One of which will be a perfume party I am planning for the female cast members. I am not exactly what this will entail as of yet (apart from perfume & champagne) but I am currently thinking of it as a mix between an Ann Summers Party & a Swish (neither of which I have ever attended)!

This is also an opportune moment to announce my imminent first ever GIVEAWAY. I am so lucky to have created a lively forum here and I see this as my way of saying thank you to all that participate. More details to follow including the lovely prizes on offer for my readers worldwide.

Charity shop cardie & cut-offs paired with a TSR top, ever trusty Dany's and a bag I picked up in Ecuador last summer.

High Street Tart

Back to reality as of tomorrow. School resumes. Essay deadline and all that great stuff. Rehearsal for Yerma starts on Tuesday. I should really read the play beforehand. But hey ho, no use moping. Instead, let me revel in the memories of the past month. I have had an amazing break and soon forgot about India. My birthday was low-key but truly special nonetheless. I have been able to spend lots of down time with my hubby and daughter. I also enjoyed having lots of time for MyCapaciousBottega. To not only post a bit more regularly but to begin to get to know my fellow bloggers out there and what a lovely bunch they are! I am hoping the 40+hrs spent at school is still going to allow me time to continue doing all of these great stuff.

Here I am wearing Khaki Zara shorts, Vintage blouse, Dany heels and my latest high street acquisition - a truly CAPACIOUS Zara bag. Love, love, love. Shots below sees me changing socks & belt, adding a vintage fur stole and swapping shoes for my putty Marc Jacobs.

Red Square

I know it is winter out there but there is a part of me that is in deep denial. I am so over the -0 weather we are currently experiencing over here in Blighty but who would let a little something like the cold put them off an ensemble idea?! I am wearing a COS skirt with a Threadless tee & a toasty M&S jumper. My sock garters are from Swan Clothing via Etsy and the cherry Doc Martens as featured before. Had I been wearing leather shorts or something of the like I think the heels might have worked (final pic) quite well so apologies in advance for any variation of this outfit that you may see in the near future...

Uniformity

I have unconsciously adopted a winter uniform. It seems having to wear a uniform of black at drama school has not in any way put me off the colour. Instead away from school, I marry it with grey as my go-to colour combo of choice. On paper it sounds dreary but it just works and when the Nigerian in me craves more excitement in the form of colour or a lil' bit more 'Grrr', I play around with my footwear or laden on the jewellery.

I want to know, what is your current winter uniform and do you find you wear less colour in winter?

In an undecided state I tried on my Black, Grey & Tan Jessica Simpson Dany's before settling on a pair to wear out. I teamed the shoes with my Uniqlo combat thermals (love, love, love), Babooshka adjustable skirt, Bershka chain detail top & a Babooshka studded turband.

Is it, is it, is it really real?

He wore blue velvet.

He bought me diamond ear-rings.

One of these 'fact' is actually a lie. I am sure you can guess which one! I have the most amazing hubby and I have been so well treated for my birthday that quite frankly I am overwhelmed from it all and might suffer another bout of exhaustion should the gifting continue!

No, not showcasing my new bling just yet but for a spot of jewellery shopping down Hatton Garden I wore my newly proclaimed super warrior jacket. Yes, this is one of my Jean Pierre Braganza purchases from my Monday spree. It is a runway piece from the A/W 2010 collection. It is super-duper warm (must be all that fuzzy Mongolian woolly fur). And it manages to feel so uber luxurious/opulent whilst also retaining a youthful edge about it. I am in love with this jacket. Seriously!

I borrowed hubby's Uniqlo cashmere jumper, my Gripp jeans are from Amelie Boutique & yes, those are Jessica Simspon's 'Dany' in black you see me sporting there. BTW I bought them in 3 different colours because I am a fiend & clearly need help!
