High Street Challenge - Day 1

OMG. The girl posts! Where I have been is prepping the production arm of MCB primed for full assault on publications by styling mega concept shoots the summer through. BUT that does not mean the blog is to be neglected because of this. In fact, all the 'seriousness' of the business side of MCB makes it easier to find the fun in blogging just for fun!

I undertook a 5 day challenge this week to see how I can best rock the current offerings on the high street and this is look no' 1. Yes, my hair is currently, according to Foxy Locks, 'Cherly Cole' red....She was way popular back when the weave was ordered but I digress.

I know I must seem partial to online shopping but seriously, I am not averse to shopping on the British high street and I really do believe there are plenty of affordable clothes to be excited about 'out there'. I am purposely featuring items from certain stores that some might imagine was not in fitting with MCB styling model but it is not all about high end couture here. You all know I like me some expensive shoes but I mix that up with vintage, indie designs, charity shops, established labels and high street. If the skirt looks familiar that is because you remember this.....

The blog is now a year old and I love all that it brings forth and all the new bloggers I have connected with. As far as global fashion domination goes the blog sits quite high on the pyramid of importance so rest assure that my 'front-line' presence shall continue to exist in conjunction with all my other attention seeking projects!

Olive Branch

Here I am all flared up but of course in a non-aggressive manner ( Yep, title linked no problem, tick for me)!

When it comes to Charlie's Angels casting, I get the title by default, of which I would never complain of 'exotic' angel. I found myself referencing the original Angels for this shoot and I chose Farrah Fawcett to channel, though you and I know that this is not really about the Charles Townsend (Charlie) Agency but more, in that ever subtle MCB remixed manner, my own nod to the '70s!

However, should you like to inform me of which 'angel' you would be cast as, leave me a note in the comment section ;)

BIBA-108

The weekend was spent holed up with my hubby and daughter. I ate way too many cream cheese & strawberry jam filled bagels and tried, in vain, to stay away from the Raphael Young e-store all because I cannot make a decision between BLUE or BLACK...Which would you choose?

I did as much homework for school as my attention span could endure (give the girl a cookie) and spent an age collating the entries so far for the Give-Away. Needless to say, spreadsheet is now my new best friend. Your name is down, right?!

I posted phone images of this outfit on Twitter a couple of weeks ago and had a couple of requests for 'proper' pics which I finally saw to. Here I am wearing Zara Pants / Zara blazer / Appeali top / Storets shoes.

I will finish by saying that my heart goes out to all in Japan and I hope the country begins to find its feet soon after such a horrific disaster. To my readers that reside or have family and friends out there, my thought and prayers to you Xx

High Street Tart

Back to reality as of tomorrow. School resumes. Essay deadline and all that great stuff. Rehearsal for Yerma starts on Tuesday. I should really read the play beforehand. But hey ho, no use moping. Instead, let me revel in the memories of the past month. I have had an amazing break and soon forgot about India. My birthday was low-key but truly special nonetheless. I have been able to spend lots of down time with my hubby and daughter. I also enjoyed having lots of time for MyCapaciousBottega. To not only post a bit more regularly but to begin to get to know my fellow bloggers out there and what a lovely bunch they are! I am hoping the 40+hrs spent at school is still going to allow me time to continue doing all of these great stuff.

Here I am wearing Khaki Zara shorts, Vintage blouse, Dany heels and my latest high street acquisition - a truly CAPACIOUS Zara bag. Love, love, love. Shots below sees me changing socks & belt, adding a vintage fur stole and swapping shoes for my putty Marc Jacobs.

Fringe Act

First post of the new year. Yeah! A big hello to ALL my lovely followers. Thank you for choosing to keep an eye on me. It always makes me smile coming in here and seeing that counter increasing, sure and steady like...

How did you see 2011 in? Or are you less than a week in and already over the new year?! I am back at drama school next week and straight into rehearsals for Yerma, in which I am playing various random roles. Nice.

I have new frames and hair. I don't often wear my glasses for pics but I am, as with everything else, a collector. The ones below are my brown Cutler and Gross. I have had them for a couple of weeks but needed a fringe to make it work and as luck would have it a fringe came my way...

I have maxi's crying out to be worn so I am going to try and introduce them into my wardrobe this winter seeing as summer isn't anywhere near. I am off to see FELA at The National Theatre and I am wearing a Cesare dress worn as a skirt and over it we have a Carla Jones jumper. Can you see the belt? They are from ZARA and the Shearling boots are Park Lane via ASOS.

Dress down Wednesday

This was a LOT of fun to shoot. Seriously. Have you ever put on an outfit and just felt so darn good.

Fashion should translate across shores/postal codes or at least you would think so! To save the neighbours from having a heart attack in the leafy suburb I call home, I think this is the only way a skin tight leather dress is going to work for me should I want to leave the house during daylight hours!
