Blue Steel / Cleaning Piece III

Allo' to all my lovely readers! I have just finished the CLEANING PIECE III challenge. See image below. I stumbled upon it via Fashion Cappuccino. A quick google led me to discovering it is a concept devised by Yoko Ono under the 100 Acorns umbrella. Anyhoo, I went with option (a) and although I managed to get through it without too many oops moments, it was not the breeze I imagined it wold be.

This is not because I am a horrible, snarky bad-minded monster but because I seem to have a clumsy way of saying things that leaves sensitive types shrinking. The challenge has highlighted just how easily it is to be misunderstood. Even when the intent is good. However, as the things I say fall firmly within my control, I figure it is the least I can do to try and not offend by simply thinking more before I speak.

I want to know what you think of the challenge. How do you think you would fare? Would you take it up and how do you avoid negative thoughts overwhelming your good intentions?

For those that have recently added me to their blog-roll - Thank you! To all that take the time to leave a comment, I also thank you because why do we do this if not for the sense of community and the feedback we get!

On the news front, I received an email from Natasha of Required2BeInspired (who bears an uncanny resemblance to Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes) informing me that I am her current Fashionable Mamas. Head over and check out my answers if you will!

For (seemingly doomed) drinks in Chelsea I wore a vintage Hopsack silk Tunic & Stella McCarteney architectural wedges. My coat is Agnes B

  3. Honestly, I don't think I'm a negative person, but I tend to be an honest person because I in turn want others to be brutally honest with me. So, I would probably fail at that challenge, because sometimes honesty can be negative. That being said, I can honestly say, I like your outfit, especially paired with the Agnes B coat. So often outfits fall apart when a coat is thrown on, but not this one.

  5. Hi Chelsea!

It is great to read a really thoughtful and well articulated comment.

I don't know any retiring Scorpions so I am not surprised to read you are a direct individual. I for one appreciate such folk.

Hope to hear more from you!

  9. Congrats on completing the challenge! I consider myself a pretty positive person, but if I'm in a crappy mood or upset about work, I'll definitely vent to my boyfriend when I get home at night.
