Portraiture: Furore

My darling in-house Photographer / Hubby wanted to play about with some new lights, which I would say he did successfully, non? My styling brief was simple: fur & some sparkle / glitter. I knew straightaway a head-wrap would be the perfect accompaniment but the challenge was to find 'blow-me away' material in house with virtually no notice! 

June Ambrose might sell her Turbans for $125-150 a pop and good on her. However the colourful cloth bazaar adorning my head, a remixed turban a la MCB, is in fact a vintage dress (a.k.a styling manna from the gods) that cost me less than 10 quid. I spotted it casually draped on the banister as I went off to see to my face and it spoke to me!

Geometric Armour

When life seems intent to bash you on the head, put something fun on. I chose a vintage jumpsuit bought from To Be Worn Again in Brighton which I posted about here. I love the geometric, art deco-esque patterns. And the Topshop sandals make yet another reappearance. I put my hands up; they are my crush of the month!

Nil By Mouth

This post has been waiting to go out for DAYS but Blogger meltdown meant scheduling matters were totally out of my hand. It seems many of us have lost posts and even comments. That sucks. Blogger - fix up. I am now considering a move to Word Press or even transferring my blog to my personal domain....

We were burgled yesterday but be assured that no item of clothing nor shoes were stolen. Yes, the mental fashionista in me did drive home thinking of finding all my shoes gone as well and saying a little prayer about the storage situation. They did however steal ALL my high value jewellery. Other items got taken but they are not as pertinent to the blog so not worth mentioning. And I don't even want to talk about it anymore :(

Oh, yeah, they also stole Hubby's camera....I took mine to school with me in the morning, something I almost never do and I am glad I did. Will be surprising Hubby with a new 5D mark II as soon as I get my head together.

Trapeze Artist

It has been a while since I mentioned my upcoming micro label MOSHI LASHI and just as long since I showed a sample of what to expect. Well, I thought I would treat you all to another of my own design. I have said it before and I will say it again - I find this seriously nerve-wracking, okay, maybe that is slightly dramatic a description but there is a nervousness attached because I am putting myself out there under the guise of designer. Your comments will help shape the final output of the label so please don't be shy but forthcoming with your feedback

Olive Branch

Here I am all flared up but of course in a non-aggressive manner ( Yep, title linked no problem, tick for me)!

When it comes to Charlie's Angels casting, I get the title by default, of which I would never complain of 'exotic' angel. I found myself referencing the original Angels for this shoot and I chose Farrah Fawcett to channel, though you and I know that this is not really about the Charles Townsend (Charlie) Agency but more, in that ever subtle MCB remixed manner, my own nod to the '70s!

However, should you like to inform me of which 'angel' you would be cast as, leave me a note in the comment section ;)

Coral Reef

Personally, I have nothing witty or clever to share right about now. Bar these images that my hubby lovingly worked on for me to share with you. My body and mind are tired but rather than see these signs as negative, I listen to them as a call to strengthen from the inside out; a sign that I need to take time out for myself so that I can continue happily and fulfilled on this wonderful blessed journey I get to call my life.

Mastin Kipp is a daily fixture on my Twitter stream and is always good for reminding you about the bigger picture. Life is not a battle to be conquered and whilst that is an original thought I have long held I loved what he says here...

Ode to Balamory

We are experiencing yet another bank holiday in the UK and I feel these pictures perfectly capture the mood of fun and frivolity of having time on your hands to play. Debbie Harry popped in for a short moment in spirit very early on in this shoot and for a short minute I was that girl in the band. But then the children BBC presenter in me sprung to life. 

Funnily enough, I was called in to read for the role of Josie in Balamory. It would have been a great job to bag espcially as my daughter was at that age a religious viewer but I guess I just wasn't mellow or yellow enough! I still think I would make a great kiddie presenter because at times my energy levels scare me! Do you like the pictures. Hubby is loving playing around with the sets we are putting out and I hope we have more fans than not!
