High Street Challenge - Day 2

Super busy but for once it is all GOOD :) I know this is NOT my Twitter stream but I just have to share this quote with you all....

Ode to Balamory

We are experiencing yet another bank holiday in the UK and I feel these pictures perfectly capture the mood of fun and frivolity of having time on your hands to play. Debbie Harry popped in for a short moment in spirit very early on in this shoot and for a short minute I was that girl in the band. But then the children BBC presenter in me sprung to life.
Funnily enough, I was called in to read for the role of Josie in Balamory. It would have been a great job to bag espcially as my daughter was at that age a religious viewer but I guess I just wasn't mellow or yellow enough! I still think I would make a great kiddie presenter because at times my energy levels scare me! Do you like the pictures. Hubby is loving playing around with the sets we are putting out and I hope we have more fans than not!

Anarchy in the UK

I am meant to be packing for our Spring Break. We leave in 2hrs for the Balearic Islands. Hubby would not be impressed to find me online but I must, I must schedule posts....Yeah, I am a rebel with a cause. I should say I was getting a sense of someone much more cool and current (PINK for example but am I showing my age when I label her as cool & current) when we shot these but I had good ol' Johnny Rotten in mind all the way.

Something about these images make me want to scream "We run the State" but we don't, so I shall, instead, bid you a jolly good day and assure you that you shall not be left wanting in my absence. Oooh, what could that mean hey....

You make me like Charity

Clowning scares me. Not in the 'mummy, don't let him near me' kind of way but more in the 'please, don't make me get up and be a clown' way. I realise that without the full Fame School back-story this opening sentence makes no sense so click HERE to get up to speed.

See, my problem is that I have an aversion to looking stupid. I swear it aggravates my psoriasis. And without looking stupid, we have no clown.

We have all had moments where we looked stupid unintentionally, right? Some of us have been unlucky in that these moments were captured, by someone that cared in their own special way, for posterity, and are sources of amusement for potential life-partners during visits to your folks (everyone should experience the photo-album ritual/humiliation) or for frenemies that lurk on your Facebook page, killing time by going through your tagged photos.

Three weeks into Clowning and I am at a total loss. I raided my wardrobe for an attire fitting of a clown but nothing I own (Sic!) seems to cut the mustard. In despair, I must venture to my local charity shop. My mission: to find an outfit for the clown within. If I must look stupidly ridiculous I might as well do it for a good cause, such as the Red Cross. See, I am no longer thinking of Clowning as me looking stupid but rather me giving back. Yes, I have, as of now, elevated my clowning endeavour to charitable status because I know me looking stupid will make many a people happy.

You can of course help by suggesting what the clown in me should wear!

Simple Sums

I have learnt that walking into MAC and buying lipstick off the cuff is never a good call. Modesty and Morange look stupid on me. Case in point; as evidenced within the body of this post...My search for the perfect nude & orange lipstick continues so if you happen to know of any good ones that is likely to suit my skin tone do drop me a line.

Dr.Martens 'Darcy' boots, I really should have worn my denim skater dress with this instead we have Uniqlo denim shirt dress and the warmest jumper in the world (I shit you not) made for me by this lovely lady.

Red Square

I know it is winter out there but there is a part of me that is in deep denial. I am so over the -0 weather we are currently experiencing over here in Blighty but who would let a little something like the cold put them off an ensemble idea?! I am wearing a COS skirt with a Threadless tee & a toasty M&S jumper. My sock garters are from Swan Clothing via Etsy and the cherry Doc Martens as featured before. Had I been wearing leather shorts or something of the like I think the heels might have worked (final pic) quite well so apologies in advance for any variation of this outfit that you may see in the near future...

If you like this or any of the posts that you have read so far, please feel invited to follow me!

Angsty reasoning

I shouldn't be here. I should be out busy doing 'stuff'. What I need is a list; whenever I arm myself with a list, the pleasure of ticking things off spurs me along and I find myself as productive as my inner uber babe wishes to be. Instead my laziness threatens to overpower me but resist I must though the little voice in my head continues to conspire against me. Oh yes, if only you could hear my inner monologue right now...

Bright sparks

Lots of pics but so little words...I have to say something sooner or later so I guess I better get used to letting words pour out!

We popped up to Northumberland last weekend. Stayed in an amazing lodge at Slaley Hall that was as quiet as still waters, made a wonderful backdrop to showcase my new boots.

I had to keep reminding myself as I stood on that ledge that I am not a huge fan of heights but anything for good shot (the amazing photographer is my wonderful hubby, he takes most of the pics you see/shall see).

I now have Doctor Martens in 3 different colours and already have my eye on green patent as well. I imagine the obsessive in me will not stop collecting them anytime soon.
