Colour Block

I seriously need to apologise for my absence. Back to school and things are already mad-busy. You still get dresses daily though, I hear you ask. Well, yes & no. I have to wear a uniform of sort. First rule of acting school: thou must wear black. Blank canvas and all that jazz (minus the hands...) This should go a little way in excusing my future blogging block but for now let us relish a spot of colour-loving for old time sake! The top is from a shop in New York that is worth remembering so let me have a think on that. Chunky necklace from a market in Ecuador. Denim harems are Vero Moda via ASOS, the lustful shoes are Miu Miu & the jacket is from a Bangkok boutique.

You Spin Me Right Round

Would you believe it! Having got myself in a tizz over having a blog that no-one, seemingly, peruses beside my old man, I find myself attracting attention in not just one but two cool platforms in a matter of days. The lovely folks at Weardrobe found my 70s' Sensibility fit to be featured on their front page and come today, I open the ever regular Black Milk mailout to find lil' old me being described as super stylish. Both these coupled with an obscene amount of hot yoga are going a long way in keeping the smile on my face!

Have I mentioned that I am an 80s baby? Well, if you didn't know before, this silk beaded top I scored on Etsy totally gives the game away wouldn't you say! The trousers are from Uniqlo and yes, those are the very same magical Walter Steigers I introduced last week.

Slackness is a state of mind...

Why have I not been in here for days I ask myself and to be honest, I don't know!

I like having this blog as a little project/hobby for myself but how to make it make enough sense for me to commit as much time as I ought to is something I am still a long way from figuring.

I have mummy stuff to keep me busy, wifely duties to attend to and of course there is drama school, which I return to in just over a week. So yeah, lots of stuff vying for my time but one can always make time for fashion, right?

For drinkies in South Ken with the gorgeous Alex, I wore a sweet little purple dress from Uniqlo, Office shoes snapped up mega cheap in the sales earlier in the year and lots of silver accessories acquired on holiday and my amethyst Gucci studs. My inflammed ring finger is better so my wedding & engagement bands are back in place where they belong :)

Shiny Happy People

Exactly a week since we got back from our month long jaunts around the Americas and I am, thankfully, functioning normally again. It takes me a few days to get myself back on track but the transition has been aided by the lovely atmosphere at home coupled with the love of a good man.

September has always seemed like the start of the year for me and in previous years, the month has been regularly marked by new beginnings of some kind. This year instead of focusing on the things I am starting anew, I shall allow myself to enjoy the feeling of continuation. Committing to something new is the hardest act but once that very first step is taken, life carries you along providing all the resources you may need.

So, here is to being carried away by our dreams, hopes and prayers.

To see Fever Ray I wore Black Milk 'Liquids' & Ribs Bodysuit with TSR Asymmetric Dress paired with my new Punkyfish Cardigan and my stupendously gorgeous Walter Steiger shoe-boots (check out the heel!!). I wrapped my hair up in a bunch of bendable necklaces I got from So Good whilst in New York.

Dress down Wednesday

This was a LOT of fun to shoot. Seriously. Have you ever put on an outfit and just felt so darn good.

Fashion should translate across shores/postal codes or at least you would think so! To save the neighbours from having a heart attack in the leafy suburb I call home, I think this is the only way a skin tight leather dress is going to work for me should I want to leave the house during daylight hours!

Dress: Haus of Price
T-shirt: Zara
Shoes: Converse via Net-A-Porter
