White Milk & Candy Drops

I starred in a music video once. Well, when I say 'starred' I mean I was one of 3 featured girls. Okay, one of three girls aside from the main model that is. Okay, okay, I am not really selling my role here but I was proud enough of this cameo of mine that I listed it on my Spotlight page. Oh, the desperation of a young Actor I hear you say and you know what, I totally agree!

So, why so happy to claim these few seconds of fame? Well, aside from the ridiculous call time (7am) and 10hrs spent on set in Forest Hill, not only did I make the final cut but you could actually see that it was me (without having to pause and then press play whilst in pause mode - believe me, I have done this....).

My heart was gladdened to know that friend or foe could watch this and say to themselves "hey, that's M looking all stush in silver."

The video in question was called 'She's Candy' by Hound Dogs and my character was simply known as 'Silver'. Yep, pick yourself up off the floor, I was Silver!

Fast-forward a few years and I have a new 'Kandee' in my life. I introduce to you my newest pair of shoes. They are called Milk and I feel like the cat that got the cream with these babies on my feet.

The headpiece is a OOAK that I commissioned and I would do it no justice to tag a couple of lines on the end of this about it so watch this space.

Ladies, gentlemen and lady-boys, enjoy my milk!

Warriors Arise (Pt.2)

Hate to draw anything out longer than necessary BUT I had to share this, not only because my darling hubby took some time to tweak the pictures to make it all pretty on the eye but because if you look closely you will see what is NOT what you think it is on my feet....

Warriors Arise (Pt.1)

The decision to wear a sequined jacket might have just reversed any FML (Fuck My Life) sentiments that might have been attached to today. Seriously, there is power contained within them sequins and I would urge you all, should you ever wake up in the land of grey a la manic depression avenue, to fish out your sparkliest, glitziest, blinging piece and wear it as you will. Be it with stomping industrial footwear, edgy sexy urban open-toe or even that old favourite of all school run bound mum's out there, your birks! As you can see I decided to do all of the above but hey on a cloudy day, you need all the ammunition you can gather and believe me clothes can be the best armour when your inner warrior is lowly or just having a day off...

White Out

Our wedding pictures have arrived. Eek. That would be the Saturday wedding. In case you are confused, don't be. We had two weddings on consecutive days... I am waiting for hubby to finish in the office so we can go through them together. I am slightly petrified that I will find the pics horrid but that doesn't bear thinking about so until I see the actual images for myself, there is no point in thinking the worst.
On the subject of weddings, these are a couple of pics from the one we attended last Saturday. They were taken in the car park and I must say, I rather liked the setting so be prepared for more underground-esque images coming along.

Reality v Perception

My inner tempo is a lot slower today than normal. I am currently processing 'stuff'. Stuff as in life journeys, past lives and ego death. Yeah, all lightness and sweetness...How can one that consumes as readily as I do claim a non-attachment to these material goods I desire? I consume but do not wish to be defined by that which I consume. I am more than what you see because what you see is not really me. All you perceive of me is exactly that; your own perception and your reality is a subjective one and on the whole has nothing to do with me. I am not my physical shell nor am I my adornments. My reality is a manifestation of my perception. The shoes maketh the outfit NOT the man. None should aspire to hide behind a costume.

Angsty reasoning

I shouldn't be here. I should be out busy doing 'stuff'. What I need is a list; whenever I arm myself with a list, the pleasure of ticking things off spurs me along and I find myself as productive as my inner uber babe wishes to be. Instead my laziness threatens to overpower me but resist I must though the little voice in my head continues to conspire against me. Oh yes, if only you could hear my inner monologue right now...
'you are on your summer break, you are entitled to do nothing'

On a whim(sical note)

We have one free weekend before we leave for our epic holiday, the weekend of the 24th, which also happens to be WOMAD w/e.
I am not thinking a whole weekend camping job but maybe a Saturday or Sunday day pass. The weather would of course be great and I would wear something floaty, soft and girlie or knowing me, I would gravitate towards the newest item the postman had just delivered and most likely end up in PVC leggings paired with some Nu-rocks!

Summer Fare

Have you ever worn footwear that was not conducive to the weather? Well, this is my tale. Before I had even got into the car I could feel my feet swelling. Seriously. Did I turn around and get changed? No way in hell! The outfit would not be 'the' outfit without particular shoe on my feet so off to the fair I went. I spent the next 2hrs praying that a pair of slippers would be found on the one of the stalls and would you believe it, there on the bric-a-brac store was my saving grace in slipper form and for the pauper-ish sum of 10p, it would have been rude to overlook them. To avoid such an occasion in the future, I will be leaving new slippers in the car. As we have all encountered, at some point or another, there comes a point in every woman's life when she simply needs saving from her shoe but I stand by choice; the shoes maketh the outfit!

70s' sensibility

I love the sun, I really do but this English weather just leaves me feeling lethargic. Lacklustre and without inspiration. Everything seems like a chore and there is no pleasure in getting dressed. My month of choice? Autumn without a doubt. Autumn makes dressing up more thrilling and already as I hit the buy button on so many new acquisitions, I know for a fact that my mind is no longer on summer but the impending months. Hurry up September, follow behind November, I have layers in mind and black to wear...

Walk on the wild side

It is boiling. Too hot to be forced to wear clothes. And as I am nowhere near a beach and the laws of decency applies to the school run, I met modesty half-way and slipped on a trusty fave. Years I have had this dress and I never fail to feel like a slinky vamp whenever I slip into it but let us not pretend that this post is about anything but the fierce SHOES. Seriously, they were made for stomping about the urban jungle I call home!

I adore these wedges. And yes, toe-nails are decidedly lime green.
